Levy renewal vote on tap in Oberlin

Wellington board seeks bids for diesel powered bus
The Wellington School Board seeks bids to purchase another diesel bus to make the active fleet seven diesel buses. Superintendent James McGlamery notes diesel costs about half of gasoline. Some gasoline buses will be kept as spares and for field trips. Members Schubert and Willis urge full council budget sessions to set yearly priorities. The final vote on the issue is scheduled for July 11 at 7 30 pm after Severs requested lead time for proper ballot wording.

Irish Summer Fest Set for Avon Lake
The second annual Irish Summer Fest runs Friday to Sunday at the Irish Heritage Club Avon Belden Rd. Events include a 5K race a children's fun run rugby and Irish football. The Bards and Cathal Dunne join as performers. Miss Ohio pageant occurs with winner announced Saturday. Admission $2 dance tickets sold separately.
