Elyria 1985 city budget projects red but official hopeful
Elyria Mayor Michael Keys says the 1985 city budget shows a projected 3 million dollar shortfall but notes officials do not expect it to occur. He explains the budget is based on need, with expenditures at 162 million and revenue at 13.2 million, including 2.3 million from a May income tax increase. Counts of funds outside the general fund are in good shape as a Parks and Recreation plan for capital improvements and pool repairs may be trimmed in the final appropriations. The budget will go to the Finance Committee and City Council for approval.
