Drowning in Huron Lagoon near Vermilion
Donald Shivak 26 of Shefield Township drowned after diving from a sailboat near the Vermilion River entrance in Huron Lagoon. He was recovered after about 30 minutes and pronounced dead at Lorain St Joseph Hospital. Coroner ruled accidental drowning.

Women priests to conduct services at Oberlin today
At Christ Episcopal Church Oberlin two irregularly ordained women priests Alison Cheek and Carter Heyward were to lead the 10 am Eucharist. Rector Rev. L Peter Beebe was found guilty by a five clergyman court of violating canon law by allowing their ministry and faces possible suspension if further incidents occur.
