Sheffield Lake boy dies after train collision
A 12 year old Sheffield Lake boy, Michael Logar, was killed at the Harris Road crossing when struck by an Norfolk and Western Railway train while riding home from a Little League game. The accident occurred at 9 04 PM as the train, switching to a siding, hit him and his bicycle, carrying him 155 feet before he was thrown off. The boy, transferred from Crestwood to Middle School, died at Lorain St Joseph Hospital. Police fault the crossing safety, urging mandatory flagman during switching. The boy leaves a sister and a step father. funeral arrangements are by Dombronski Funeral Home.

Woman dies after crash in Graf ton Township
A 17yearold LaGrange woman Patricia Cricks died after a two car collision June 12 in Graf ton Township. Her husband Gerald 20 suffered a broken jaw. The northbound vehicle from Lakewood driven by James Schwinn 18 failed to stop at a stop sign. Schwinn and passenger Scott Kermod 16 had minor injuries and Schwinn was cited for failure to yield. The crash occurred on Rt 303 near Mennell Road. The stillborn baby delivered at Elyria Memorial Hospital June 14 may be linked but not listed as a traffic fatality. Obituary on page 14.
