Bill could cost schools millions in Ohio millage cuts
Ohio House Bill 335 would eliminate inside millage used for operating expenses by schools municipalities and counties. State Rep. David Thomas says the plan would provide 3.5 billion in direct property tax relief starting in 2026 by stripping unvoted millage. A $100,000 home could save about 350 dollars annually per Lorain County figures.

Westlake doctor charged in road rage case with Rep Miller
Feras Hamdan age 36 of Westlake was charged in Rocky River Municipal Court with aggravated menacing and ethnic intimidation following a road rage incident with U S Representative Max Miller. Hamdan turned himself in and pleaded not guilty and was held on a 500000 dollar bond. His attorney called the allegations baseless and defamatory.

Lorain County set to vote on 0.25% sales tax
After two public hearings, Lorain County commissioners plan a July 1 vote at 3:30 p.m. in Elyria to place a 0.25 percent sales tax on the November ballot to fund Sheriff’s Office operations. If approved, the tax could raise about 13 million for sheriff functions and jail, with a decision due by July 15 to meet the November 4 ballot deadline.
