Olmsted Falls Teen Dies After Triple Heart Transplants

Tony Steele, 17, of Olmsted Falls, died at 4:10 a.m. in Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh after kidney failure following three heart transplants for congenital heart disease. He underwent 22 hours of surgery across three operations, with a second transplant and later surgery to fix a bleeding aorta. Family fund drives raised about $62,000 for donor costs and meds.

Dodrill sought after after rape conviction appeal ruling

Perry emergency poses no risk to workers or public

North Perry nuclear plant operators worked to lower the temperature of three tons of smoldering charcoal in a gas treatment system after a test, but officials said the incident posed no risk. The plant was shut down during the charcoal smoldering at 11:45 a.m. Friday, spokesman Bill King said.
