Mother of Two Ordered to Help Support Children
County welfare director Floyd Wooldridge led a case against a 20 year old mother of two, accusing her of neglect and an easy welfare lifestyle. Probation Given to Youth in Vermilion Shooting Incident
A 17 year old Lorain youth was placed on probation after he fired a 45 caliber pistol at a camping site by the Vermilion river near Juvemite village. Ronald Mills, 14, of Vermilion, was wounded in the neck as the shot reportedly ricocheted during a near gang fight between Lorain and Vermilion youths. The shooter said he took the pistol from his father’s house and that the bullet likely ricocheted. Mills was hospitalized recovering from the wound.

Scouts To Leave Oberlin For National Jamboree
One hundred eighty five Boy Scouts and leaders from Yo, rain, Erie, and Huron Counties depart Oberlin by bus at 6 P.M. Tuesday for thirteen days at Valley Forge State Park Pa to mark the 40th anniversary of the Scout movement.
