Ridgeville unveils flood reducing sewer and dam upgrades
North Ridgeville prepares two major flood mitigation projects this year. A $470,000 expansion of sanitary sewer lines at the French Creek Wastewater Plant and an $18,300 dam modification aim to lower stormwater behind a 12 to 13 foot tall weir near Root Road. Officials say the dam tweaks could retain more water and curb flooding by up to six inches for Gina Pitts Gail Drive residents, though not a cure-all.
