Amherst builder Harry Fior dead at 84
Harry Fior of Amherst died June 18 2011 at Amherst Hospital. Born March 2 1927 in Lorain Ohio he served in the U S Navy 1945 46 and founded H Fier General Contractor Inc his firm built Lorain County projects including Meyer Goldberg Stores Ridge Tool Sacred Heart Chapel and the Lorain Public Library He was a longtime member of St Stanislaus and St Joseph churches Knights of Columbus and the Oberlin Golf Club and served as the youngest president of Carpenters Local 705.
