Amherst based Marion L. Steele High School will receive new shelving computers and partitions as part of a 30000 donation from the schools Parent Teacher Organization. The funds come from sales of Amherst Comet apparel at Comet Corner and will be spent over the next three years with a fall start.

North Ridgeville to boost water pressure for Ridgefield homes
North Ridgeville plans to tie two 12 inch lines on Bagley and Lorain into a 30 inch Avon Lake high pressure main by fall. The Ridgefield subdivision near Root and Bagley has 500 to 600 homes and faces low pressure in hot weather as water use rises. Mayor David Gillock said the problem has worsened with growth and action is needed. Assistant City Engineer Cathy Becker notes the 12 inch lines cannot handle the demand.
