Renters oppose Elyria Schools buyout plan near high school

Tenants from several apartments crowded a Wesleyan Village meeting as Elyria Schools outlined plans to buy parcels between Middle and West avenues and Sixth and Seventh streets for a demolition linked to a new high school site. Renters complained no funds exist to help them buy homes or cover moving costs, while landlords may receive relocation aid. Superintendent Paul Rigda urged renters to meet with officials and owners to seek solutions.
