SplashZone in Oberlin tightens pool rules drawing parent concern
The SplashZone outdoor pool in Oberlin now requires wristbands for children seven and under and arm’s reach accompaniment by a guardian. Children eleven and under must be with an adult eighteen or older. The facility, run by Lorain County Metro Parks, charges 3 dollars for Oberlin residents and 6 dollars for non residents. Memberships vary by residency and duration with options including monthly and yearly plans. Birthday parties cost 100 dollars for up to 20 guests. Jack Coates III, Wellington native and Wilmington patrol trooper, recently earned a 26 state Midwest Region karate title and plans to compete in Beijing 2008 exhibitions linking karate to the Olympics.

John Fiore charged after altercation outside Old Fort's Tavern
