Avon Lake pool workers released a surge of chlorine and muriatic acid into the water at the municipal pool injuring 19 children ages 5 to 10 and a coach. All were taken to St John West Shore Hospital in Westlake with the coach and a boy in stable condition.

Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio reports damage to its new Lorain warehouse at 7446 Deer Trail Lane. Twenty glass blocks at the bottom exterior wall were broken between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. blocks engraved with donors names were damaged. No arrests or damage estimates available.
A man tried to rob Premier Bank and Trust on Abbe Road Elyria on Friday at about 2 45 p m but fled on a bicycle toward Longfellow Street with nothing taken. Elyria police and a North Ridgeville K 9 unit searched the area behind the bank while FBI agents questioned staff. The suspect was described as a man.
