State crackdown hits area's teen drinkers
Lorain County teens may be helped by a state crackdown on underage drinking. Liquor Control agents report increased tavern scrutiny, with arrests up threefold since mid April. Tavern owners now check IDs more, and agents focus on bars serving minors. One third of teen alcohol comes from home, says officials, as stronger parental involvement grows. Tips about violations go to the Ohio Department of Liquor Control in Columbus or the Cleveland office.
