New London seeks renewal of 25 mill water levy

The Board of Public Affairs voted to request renewal of a 25 mill water system expansion levy for the November ballot to fund system improvements and New London’s share of a proposed 1.5 million reservoir project. The levy originally passed in 1962 to build a 250000 gallon tower, enhance the water plant, and install zeolite softeners. The BPA also heard bids for water softener salt and received progress on the reservoir, with funds anticipated from state control boards and possible EPA joint financing.
