Tragic Drowning Of Two Year Old In City Cisterna
James Arthur Tedrow, two year old son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Tedrow, drowned in a cistern behind the State Street home this morning. Firemen fought for nearly two hours with artificial resuscitation methods and heart stimulants from Dr R W Hancock, all to no avail. The cistern, about nine feet deep and filled with water, had been lightly fenced until recently but the cover was removed for work and the child is believed to have fallen in after removing the wooden cover. The body was recovered by uncle Mary Tedrow with a rake. He is survived by parents and three grandparents, and the funeral home is Sudro's with arrangements pending.
