Continental jet lands safely after captain dies midflight

A Continental pilot on a Brussels to Newark flight died of a suspected heart attack in the cockpit. Two co pilots took over as the Boeing 777 landed safely. passengers learned of the death after arrival. The Newark based captain had 32 years with the airline.

Seals killed in Canada’s hunt fall amid recession

Canada reports about 70 000 harp seals hunted from a quota of 273 000 ending a seven month season. Last year saw 217 857 seals from 275 000. Low pelts price and possible EU ban drive many hunters away, while 60 000 pelts remain from prior year amid weak demand.
