Baldwin Wallace Honors Day recipients named in Elyria and Worth Ridgevilla
Anneliese Cooper Watt of Elyria and Lynne Holto of Worth Ridgevilla were honored at Baldwin Wallace College. Watt won the Ruby Redinger Prize in English and is a 1988 Midview High School graduate. Holto earned a B W Division of Education Scholarship and joined the Day ton C Miller Society, as an English major from North Ridgeville High School class of 1977. Band fundraising trips to Toronto include a 20 minute halftime show and Phantom of the Opera. The trip costs 245 dollars for two days, funded by students. Car washes planned June 27 and in July and August at Holy Spirit Parish to raise funds, with donations sent to Avon Lake Band Aids.

Lakewood man jailed for beating pregnant Elyria woman
Lorain County Deputy saw Eric Taylor 31 assault a 24 year old Elyria woman in a Carlisle Township parking lot after an argument over money. The victim, two months pregnant, was struck with a screwdriver and taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Judge John Howard ordered 10 days in jail and a 200 fine with costs, suspending 20 of 30 days.
