Len Bias, 22, the University of Maryland basketball star drafted by the Boston Celtics, died early this morning after a cardio-respiratory arrest at Leland Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:50 am.

A Cleveland man, 28, identified as Douglas Foster, became the sixth arrest in a police raid on two Elyria charity bingo games. Foster, at 3846 W 134th St, faced a misdemeanor count for working at a bingo game despite a prior felony. The raid targeted United States Figure Club of Ohio at 908 Cleveland Street and Vanity Club Tent No 6 at 1885 Lake Ave, with both organizations alleged to skim over 100000 dollars from the games.
