Governor Lausche signed Ohio’s first congressional redistricting in 38 years creating 23 districts. Lorain County leaves the 14th district for the new 13th district joining Erie Huron and Sandusky counties with a 1950 Census population of 286 19k residents. Lorain holds 148 162 residents. Mayor Sentences Man to Three Months in Jail
Withe Gene Glass, 27, of Wayne Street, is fined 100 dollars and costs and given a three month jail term after arraignment before Mayor Henry W. Auit on charges of assault and threatening with a dangerous weapon. Police say he was found with a knife at 20 Woodford Avenue and a gun was later located by Lillie Brantley in her yard at 8 Woodford Avenue.
