Two hour battle at Brady near Morgantown West Virginia between mine guards and union miners destroys a building and fires shots from surrounding hillsides. One man wounded. sheriff reports the union hall burned. Brady Warner company operates the open shop mine after earlier incidents.
George Bright aged 72 died suddenly at 9 am while walking between Eleventh and Twelfth Streets. A longtime resident since moving from New York at 13, he is believed to have died of heart trouble. Survived by wife Sarah, sister Edna Sabins, sons P. J. Bright F. M. Bright of Rocky River and L. H. Bright, and daughter Olive Bright of Cleveland. Funeral arrangements pending.
Judge Thompson adjourned the alimony session as a three year old boy cried for his father Willis Albaugh and was carried from the courtroom. The father was ordered to pay 10 dollars weekly and to return the boy to his mother amid a displayed lack of reconciliation.
Arthur Harper of Chicago visits New Castle Pennsylvania and calls coroner to identify the dead man on the New York Central tracks as his uncle Walter Wright also of Chicago. The body will be shipped to Chicago tonight.
A mysterious Russian was arrested in Milan on the Matteotti case. He reportedly confessed shadowing the socialist deputy before the crime and traveling with Matteotti’s killers after the murder.

A Nashville Chattanooga and St. Louis passenger train crashed head on into a work train near Vine Georgia. Engineer H J Robertson of Kennesaw Ga fireman J L Lackmidge and engine watchman G I Tomlinson died. Two others were seriously injured and many more people were endangered. All the deceased were aboard the work train engine.

Mrs Arthur Watson of Case road was struck by a car on Tuesday evening in Cleveland. She was thrown to the pavement and badly bruised, with a wheel passing over her foot, injuring a hand and hindering her ability to walk. She received medical care and was taken home.
Cleveland June 19 The Republican National convention here last week cost the party between 140000 and 150000, an estimate issued today. The figure covers expenses in the city for the gathering and related activities. The tally builds on prior convention costs and reflects standard campaign outlays.

Calexico Calif June 19 Four Chinese were killed yesterday in a tong war in Mexicali with seven thousand Chinese residents. Jose Cam a wealthy Mexican merchant was shot in his home by four Chinese. A Mexican soldier was wounded as troops worked to restore order.
Mrs Stephen Walsh wife of the War Secretary visits the War Office in London after her husband’s installation. She notes their six children and shared chores with her eldest daughter while maintaining their home in Wigan. She says the war office isn’t as grand as expected and plans to stay in Wigan.
A Lake Shore interurban struck an auto at Hickory Corners near Genoa resulting in six deaths. Victims include Andrew Peterson and his wife, S. L. Hendrickson and her daughter-in-law plus two young children. Eye witness said the auto, traveling about fifty miles per hour, veered into the interurban’s path.
In New York delegates converge for the upcoming Democratic convention with William McAdoo and Governor Al Smith directing their camps. Smith backers foresee over 400 Smith delegates by ballot five, while McAdoo backers predict 450 early votes and up to 650 later. Jay Bryan, a long-time nominee, attends as a delegate from Colorado, stating Smith will not be nominated.
Chicago reports say new indictments charging Nathan F. Leopold Jr. and Richard Loeb with conspiracy to murder will be sought by the state’s attorney Crowe. The case covers the kidnapping and the boy’s nude body found in a Chicago culvert. Also noted are strikes and a tax collection estimate.
