Oberlin City Council opposes war with Iran and taxes planned
Oberlin City Council voted 6 to 1 to place a one five percent income tax levy on the November ballot to fund capital improvements and wastewater plant work for 10 years while opposing a separate 0.1 percent levy for a fire station expansion. If the measure passes, funds will come from reserves and potential donations. The council also discussed events including BalloonFest, Chalk Walk, and local history programs, and noted a $5.1 million low interest loan for water treatment upgrades from the Ohio EPA.
