Chronicle reporters conducted an undercover visit to Doctors Clinic at 38251 Butternut Ridge Road from May 15 to June 16. They observed patients openly buying and selling prescription drugs including Quaaludes Preludin Demerol and Hycodan within the waiting room and parking lot.
The Doctors Clinic in a two story Eaton Township house faces intensive inquiry by federal state and local drug enforcement agencies. Lorain County MEG and Sheriff Mertz confirm ongoing investigations with few details. The State Medical Board and State Board of Pharmacy also probe prescription drug sales as others cooperate.
CT investigation into Doctors Clinic led by director Dr Leonard Faymore reveals patients used false IDs to obtain narcotics and clinic doctors dispensed drugs to others in the waiting area and parking lot. Faymore defends open detox program, calls addicts highly deceptive, and says undercover reporters were admitted under false pretenses.
Grafton State Prison Farm is considered the preferred site for a new 1200 inmate reformatory, with land already owned by the state and no purchase needed. Other sites like Ravenna Arsenal Cleveland and Akron are also under consideration, while Mansfield would be renovated into a maximum security prison. The Finance Committee weighs $2.1 million for feasibility studies split between northern and southern Ohio, amid debates on facility size and location.
James Shaffer and friends say they saw a large ape like figure near the S Abbe Road railroad crossing north of Taylor Street at dusk Monday. The sighting, described as Bigfoot, startled residents in Elyria and surrounding Midwest areas.
