Ohio lawmakers seek to limit constitutional ballot amendments
Republican leaders in Columbus push a House resolution to curb amendments that grant economic benefits to few or create monopolies. If approved by three fifths of both chambers before Aug 5, the measure would affect proposed marijuana legalization by Responsible Ohio, which plans ten designated grow sites and has backing for a 2015 ballot. Opponents argue the plan exploits the constitution for business interests and risk buying influence in state law.
