Avon City Council approved a contract with Avon Ballpark LLC to oversee the Frontier League Single-A team and awarded an 11.3 million construction bid for a 5,000-seat stadium to open in June 2009. The deal includes a 15-year lease with options to 30 years, 2.5 million in equipment investment, and a 0.25 percent income tax funding the project along with a regional YMCA.
