Oberlin Honors and Commencement At Oberlin College
Oberlin College closed the spring term with commencement in Finney Chapel. Twelve graduates earned honors including summa cum laude for Robinson Newcomb and Theodora M Newcomb. Magna cum laude honored Hops Halloway and Barbara F Johnson. cum laude awarded to Huth Hubbard and others. Phi Beta Kappa inducted 251 degrees were conferred. Honorary degrees went to Linda Eastman Frances Densmore James Spilley. Doctor of Divinity to Morland Shinherd. Doctor of Laws to Garner Moorhead Park. Prof. Miller announced his resignation to join Ohio State University. The 1914 class won the Alumni parade banner during Lumination Night.

One Dead and One Dying in Lorain Collision
A dairy truck and a Yellow Line street car collided on 28th Street near the underpass. Stanley Turton, 18, driver for Sheffield Dairy Co, died at the hospital. George Laux was hospitalized with severe injuries. Motorman C L Smith and conductor O P Teets were aboard the street car. Werner, a bus passenger, was hit by flying milk bottles.
