LaGrange Township Trustees voted to place a 0.9 mill operating levy on the November 3 ballot. The levy, defeated in the primary, has operated since 1971 and would raise about $26,000 annually for operating expenses. A levy Q&A session is set for June 29 at the township hall at 8 p.m., after a 7:30 public hearing on the proposed 1993 budget.
Firelands school board votes to place a proposed income tax levy on the November ballot after defeats in 1991 and a failed May measure. The exact levy size to be set at a future board meeting. Officials warn of funding gaps and potential roof repairs if funds are not secured.
CSR Transportation will close the West River Road segment between Infirmary Road and Massey Avenue through June 26 to reconstruct two railroad crossings. A later closure July 6 to 24 will add two more crossings. One crossing will be removed. Detours route traffic via Massey Avenue West Avenue Second Street and Third Street.
