Lorain Civil Service releases fire exam results reluctantly
The Civil Service Commission released a May 31 lieutenant fire department promotion exam list to the press but did so reluctantly. City solicitor says state law requires only one list and one posted copy, with the official list in a safe and a posted copy shown in city hall. The article notes prior practice and an incident where an ineligible name briefly appeared on an eligibility list, leading to changes in distribution. Ray Wentz earns presidential honorary scholarship from Case Western Reserve University and will enroll in June after Elyria High School graduation.
