A presidential emergency board recommended a five day 40 hour week for 75,000 conductors and trainmen and 4,000 yardmasters working in yards, while offering little to the 125,000 road crew conductors and trainmen. One Way Street Trap for Two Escaped Convicts
Two Indiana State Reformatory escapees, George Mobley and Dewey Carpenter Jr., were held for federal authorities after driving a stolen car the wrong way on a one way street in Sa Wilng Green, Kentucky. Motorcycle Crash Kills Aldrich Near New London
Eugene Aldrich, 21, of Plymouth, died instantly when his motorcycle hit a loose stone on state route 13 seven and a half miles southwest of New London. Coroner J. D. Bradish ruled accidental death.
