North Ridgeville trap team earns national berth in Michigan
North Ridgeville High School trap team qualified seven of 31 members for the national tournament July 12 to 15 in Mason, Michigan, after Isaiah Comnick won first place and high gun at the state meet June 2 and 3 at Blackwater Shooting Center. The team took second at states and swept the novice division with Graien Riley, Ruby Miemojewski and Kristina Smith finishing first through third. Coaches praised the girls’ rapid improvement and the program’s growing recognition as a school sport.

Series of DUIs and thefts mark week in North Ridgeville area
Over several days in May and June, police logged multiple incidents. Ksenia Wearsch, 22, faced DUI charges after a two vehicle crash at Center Ridge and Barton. A woman reported ring thefts from an unlocked car on Olive Ave. Three chainsaws were stolen from a barn near Garden Village. Craig Rieker, 61, was charged with disorderly conduct intoxication and indecent exposure after urinating in a bar lot. Kenneth Kaniner Jr, 36, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle theft and driving under suspension. Tyler Parsons, 21, was charged with assault and criminal damaging following an altercation with an ex. Cynthia Shullick, 61, was charged with lights required and DUI after a traffic stop. Burglar alarm at Smoker's Outlet reported two front windows damaged. Chris Miller, 50, was charged with OVI and related offenses after a stop. Curtis Asp, 23, and two others faced multiple drug and paraphernalia charges at Lorain Road. Joseph Zelenka, 38, and Amanda Combs, 36, faced drug possession charges.
