Online charter school cleared in truancy probe
Ohio Virtual Academy faced a probe after a whistleblower reported 398 chronically truant students remained enrolled to draw state payments. Investigators found 12 students stayed enrolled past withdrawal dates by 4 to 91 days and overfunding occurred, but amounted to a small percentage, attributed to user error rather than fraud.
