Police search auto shop after complaints in Lorain

Lorain police searched Affordable Auto and Truck Repair on Middle Ridge Road under a Lorain County Common Pleas Court warrant. Two cars, a 2000 Cadillac Escalade and a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier, were seized as evidence while investigations continue. The owner Thomas Witten faced multiple complaints over unreturned vehicles and unpaid balances, with civil and storage dispute notes in police reports.

Elyria man indicted on abduction charges

An Elyria man Travis Widdowson, 29, was indicted on abduction and related charges after allegedly abducting his estranged partner Natalie Trapp, their two children aged 3 and 10 months, and threatening harm. He was arrested May 29 in Westlake after an Amber Alert prompted tips from residents.

Cavaliers donate 10th reading center to Elyria site

The Cleveland Cavaliers donated their 10th reading and learning center in five years, supporting the club’s effort. Colleen Garrity, Cavaliers director of community relations, said the club does the work while partners provide a needed facility.
