Park expansion plan hides wastewater plant in city’s growth drive
Lorain officials propose moving the Black River Wastewater Treatment Plant from the river mouth to the industrial park north of the old landfill. The $60 million relocation aims to free nine acres for downtown development and permit a state of the art facility with 20 million gallons per day capacity, funded largely by state and federal aid. Safety official Craig Miller urges fast council action to hire TetraTech for a $24,550 feasibility study and to pass a resolution of support to attract partners.
