Residents split on Elyria city sign preservation
Elyria residents debate whether the 40 year old Loomis Camera sign should stay or come down. Some praise its historic value and city character while others want conformity with design guidelines. Pulte Homes expands Avon land holdings amid county market boom
Pulte Homes bought 22 more acres in Avon beside its 81acre development near Avon Center Road and Falcon Crest Avenue for 128 million dollars, paying over 58,550 per acre. Lorain County records show volume as national builders like Ryan Homes and Forest City Enterprises buy land seeking cheaper options than Cuyahoga and Medina counties. During the first half of 2002, 30 land plots changed hands, including 63 for condominiums and 478 subdivided. Contact Kristin Yarbrough at kyarbrough chronicletelegram.com or 323-7152.
