Warhola elected president of Lorain County Bar Association
Lorain attorney Andrew J. Warhola was elected president of the Lorain County Bar Association at its annual meeting in the county administration building. He will take office July 1 succeeding Raymond Miraldi. Current officers include Lucas Boyson as vice president and Terry Shilling as secretary treasurer. Warhola, 52, began practice in 1951 after Michigan and has served as assistant county prosecutor and college trustee. He and his wife Joan reside in Lorain with four children. Miraldi reflected on ethics, fees and local advertising trends for the legal profession.

Westlake man held to grand jury on two break-in charges
In Rocky River Municipal Court Edward Thibo Jr 18 waived preliminary hearing and was held to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury on two counts of breaking and entering. He posted a $500 bond. A 17-year-old Westlake youth accompanying him is also implicated in multiple burglaries in Fairview Park and North Olmsted.

Oberlin man 19 charged in valium theft case
Oberlin police recovered about 5500 Valium tranquilizers with a street value of 2100 stolen from a Westlake pharmacy after arresting Mark Treadway 19 and a juvenile accomplice. About 90 pills were found in Treadway’s car following a hit and run incident and further searches at a friend's garage uncovered more pills.

Aliation suit seeks 375000 in Norwalk case
A Milan woman files in Huron County Common Pleas Court against Brigitte Brimer seeking 275000 in compensatory and 100000 in punitive damages alleging cohabitation with the Miller couple's husband Alito Miller late in 1977. Miller, 58, is a farm owner and board member. Brimer is a hospital personnel director. A divorce action involving the Millers is pending in Erie County. Brimer's divorce from Robert Brimer was granted last November in Huron County. Police say tranquilizers were among 6900 stolen from Westlake Discount Drug Mart earlier this year. Treadway, employed there three weeks, faced drug abuse charges. pleaded innocent in Oberlin Municipal Court and was released on 1000 bond pending a June 19 preliminary hearing. Juvenile released to parents.

Police arrest alleged fugitive in Oberlin traffic stop
An Indiana prison escapee, Charles Ainslie Kenzer, 26, was captured by Oberlin police after a Route 58 traffic stop. Kenzer was sought by Indiana and Kentucky authorities after escaping from a minimum security facility near Michigan City in January.
