Man charged after self inflicted burns in arson attempt

Elyria police say 19 year old John T Stemple of Sheriff Street admitted pouring gasoline around a Warden Avenue home in a bid to set it ablaze. He was treated for second degree burns and jailed on aggravated arson after identification by the homeowner Bruce Bires.
