TV Highway Filled With Bumps For Director With Philosophy
Elliot Silverstein, a Yale Drama School graduate, balances New York roots with Hollywood work, directing shows like Twilight Zone and Route 66 while questioning violence in TV. He laments editors' edits, seeks to preserve his signature, and notes the director’s limited control in TV productions. He has not yet won an Emmy but remains acclaimed for thoughtful, principled directing.

Board Finds Movies Not For Children
Hollywood reports the National Organizations Film Estimate Board surveyed 17 pictures this month. Five were adults only, seven allowed for adults and mature young people, three limited to adults or older youths, and one each for family with children and family audiences.
