Clinton not as leftward as headlines claim
Hillary Clinton appears only moderately leftward with policies like broader immigration, criminal justice reform, and automatic voter registration. She avoids clear stances on fast track trade, Social Security expansion, and exact minimum wage, signaling pandering with a purpose to appeal to a skeptical base without risking general-election vulnerability. The speech draft reflects careful positioning echoing 1992 contrasts but with less bold ideological bravery.
