Elyria police continued a local search on June 10 1985 for a man missing since the previous day. Friends and neighbors assisted in the effort with volunteers canvassing the neighborhood around Elyria Ohio. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact the police department.
Elyria High School announces Brenda Ann Dyer valedictorian and Jeffrey James Schroeder salutatorian for the 1985 graduating class. Dyer, daughter of James G. and Mary Dyer of 281 Boston Ave, participated in choir French Club NHS Quill and Scroll and was a library aide. Schroeder, son of James and family of 444 Windsor Dr, took part in choir marching band debate club and French Club. Both plan to attend Oberlin College and Case Western Reserve University respectively. Commencement was Friday.
The Columbia High School class of 1985 held its inaugural commencement with 105 graduates. Valedictorian Cathy Holmes and salutatorian Michelle Marflake spoke on enduring class spirit and pursuing futures. Diplomas were presented by Louis Morlock and Darryl Graves.
Wellington announces 1985 scholarship winners including multiple Alice Andrus Scholarships and numerous local awards. Recipients span Melissa Beetler to Dara Howell with achievements from St Patrick's and Kiwanis scholarships to Ohio Board of Regents certificates and nursing awards.
