Colorado man denied right to euthanasia by self action
The Colorado Court of Appeals rejected 81-year-old Robert Sanderson's claim that a state law criminalizing assisted death by own action violated his free exercise of religion. Sanderson sought in 1996 to let his wife authorize his death via euthanasia if two doctors deemed his condition hopeless. State law defines manslaughter as purposely causing another's death by own action.

AIDS Origin Traced to Early 1930s Simian Link
A new study traces HIV’s origin to a simian virus in southwest Africa between 1915 and 1941, most likely 1931, with AIDS only becoming a worldwide threat after Africa’s isolation ended and jet travel and urban life spread the virus. Researchers say SIV in chimpanzees converted to HIV and that early human cases stayed confined before expanding globally.
