Roosevelt outlines seven point drought relief program
President Roosevelt sent Congress a seven point plan totaling 525,000,009 dollars for drought relief. The package includes 125 million for relief work, 75 million for livestock purchases, 100 million for cattle processing and relief distribution, 100 million for farmer loans, 50 million for resettling distressed farms, 50 million for work camps, and 25.06 million for seed purchases and loans. He stressed flexibility and urgency, noting rainfall cannot fully restore damage and that large scale federal aid is needed to move feed and cattle to relief sites.
