Sybron to Sell Pfaudler Co Elyria Plant and Six Other Units
Sybron Corp owners of Pfaudler process equipment division initiate a sale of the Elyria plant in Ohio along with five other facilities in Rochester Germany Scotland Mexico and Brazil as part of a multi year plan to lift profits by reshaping the business mix. No price is set and a buyer has not yet emerged. The Elyria site employs over 200 people and produces glassed lined steel reactors and storage tanks for chemical, pharmaceutical and plastics industries. Sybron aims to reinvest proceeds into health care and lab supplies while pursuing acquisitions divestitures relocations and consolidations. The Elyria plant joined Sybron in 1968 from Ritter Pfaudler and Taylor Instrument merger.
