Sears may replace Elyria and Lorain stores with new mall location

Cleveland area Sears manager David F. Leahy said a planned Lorain County Sears at the Eadway Mall could serve as a total department store for the area. Elyria’s 1929 store has 30 departments but narrower assortments, while Lorain offers 20. Higbee’s will build in Lorain County after residents urged a store there. The Elyria downtown lease expiration may force changes.
