The Wellington High School Class of 1938 will travel to Chippewa Lake on Sunday June 16 for their annual reunion. Bring well filled baskets and meet at the public library at 2 p m for transportation.
Miss Nancy Lois West daughter of Mr and Mrs Welker West will marry Donald Sooy on June 16. Mrs A R Branson hosted a pre nuptial shower this week for Miss West and her gifts included a large white suspended sprinkling can.
Miss Florine West of Wellington and Pittsfield was treated after a deep cut on her thumb from a paint can opening. Dr. William Klann attended, stitches applied to close the wound. Mr and Mrs R E Clisby of South Main Street Wellington observe local birds as they report four great horned owls missing from a nest on A P Lincoln farm.
Community listings show Kiwanis and Garden Club meetings at Avon Lake, picnics in Carlisle East, Children s Day services at multiple churches, and a Grafton social club gathering. Scouts, Loyalties, and card parties also noted along with a baseball doubleheader in Erhart and local personal updates.
New London home garden club meets with Mrs George Broome at 2 30 p m. North Ridgeville study club picnic at 12 30 p m at Mrs V Andrews home with Mrs Hunt assisting. North Ridgeville Grange holds memorial service at their hall at 3 p m.
Sunday events list at Avon Lake Congregational church at 10 30 a m includes children day and baptism. Scientists hold Sunday School and services at the school at 11 a m. Rev Britton says Congregational church school remains at 9 30 a m with services at 10 30 a m for the remainder of the summer.
Residents of Avon-on-the-Lake and Park Hall groups schedule meetings this week. Dames of Malta host a card party at the lodge room Saturday evening with chair Al Weigel. Barbara Schenck visits Chicago relatives. Boise Idaho is home for Mrs. Anna Bennett. Santos in Brazil noted as a large coffee port. Norway’s sea exposure highlighted.
