Elyria Youth Seriously Hurt In Bicycle Collision
John Koli, 17, of 215 West River, was in Elyria Memorial Hospital in critical condition after a 11 10 a m bicycle collision with a car driven by Anthony Tobicash of 619 15th Street on West River street near Lake Avenue. He suffered a broken jaw, severe jaw laceration, and possible skull fracture. Tobicash and Howard Taft stopped to aid him until EMS arrived.

Elyria High seniors urged to light the torch of life
Rev. Kemp delivered the baccalaureate sermon at First Methodist Episcopal Church for the largest Elyria High graduating class. A full church heard calls to illuminate the soul with spiritual, intellectual, and natural light and to use talents to aid the world. Four local pastors participated, and a college loan fund aiding juniors and seniors was announced by Rev. Kemp. The 60-voice chorus, conducted by J. Martin Beck, supplied musical program highlights.

The 210 by 220 foot addition is the first unit in a replacement program by Elyia's leading metal goods maker. The firm employs 700 to 800 workers, operates 24 hours, and plans expansion.

Woman Suffers Severe Injury From Route 9 Collision
Mrs. Mary Fallon, 638, R. D. 1, Milan, was treated at Amherst hospital last midnight for a severe scalp laceration and possible skull fracture after an auto crash on Route 9 west of South Amherst. She rode in her son Frank Fallon's car, which collided with Edward Noonan's at 344 Tenth Street driving easterly. Deputies Nan and Monroe investigated. Fallon was thrown against the dash and taken to the hospital by Carl Miller of Amherst.
