A violent nighttime tornado struck Barneveld Wisconsin on June 7 1984 killing nine people and injuring about two hundred. The disaster left extensive structural damage across the town and prompted emergency response from local and state agencies.
The cut off date to order commemorative bricks for Elyria Veterans Memorial in Ely Square is Monday. Bricks ordered by then will be placed on dedication day in late July or early August. Bricks ordered after June 12 will be added around Veterans Day and cost 65 dollars for three lines of 14 characters.
