Local couple honored to pull hearse for fallen officer
Misencik Funeral Home chose Jim Reed and Linda Ewell’s pair of black Percherons to pull the refinished hearse for Cleveland Heights officer Jason West’s funeral. The Avon native and officer’s services prompted pride as the couple’s 13 draft horses have hauled at parades, fairs, and community events across northeast Ohio. The family competes in 8 to 10 shows yearly, with multiple generations sharing a passion since meeting at a county fair eight years ago.
