Ohio budget bill trims spending with tax indexing and elder programs

The plan advances small increases in pay via income tax indexing tied to the GDP index and includes a prescription drug discount program for seniors through the Golden Buckeye Card. It also allocates 7.8 million to PASSPORT for at home senior care and limits state spending to 3 percent per Dayton area Senator Jeff Jacobson. Democrats fault the tax hikes as irresponsible while May revenue signals show steady state finances with May tax receipts at 799 million.
