Levies To Go On Fall Ballot In Lorain County
County commissioners approved two levies to appear on November ballots. A 0.25 mill levy for Pleasant Sanatorium replaces 0.4 mills, estimated to raise about $125000 annually. A 0.4 mill, one year levy would fund the regional planning commission, with an estimated $200000. Elyria officials anticipate no action against pinball machines pending court interpretation. Mayor Keys and Police Chief Boggs oppose taxing pinball as legalization. Lorain authorities say current ordinance bans free-game machines and license fees total $38450 this year.
