New London Ohio June 6 Bert Campbell twenty one was killed instantly when his car ran off Fayette road two and a half miles north of town. A rear tire blowout caused loss of control and the car overturned landing in a creek. Campbell’s head was crushed and funeral plans were not yet arranged.

Fire crews rescue mare from 25-foot well on farm
The Wellington fire department and an auto wrecker rescued a mare that fell into a 25-foot well on the Don Gott farm in Brighton yesterday afternoon. Firemen pumped the well dry and, with the wrecker's hoist, pulled the mare to safety. she appeared unharmed.
